Denmark

Denmark might well spark your imagination into visions of Vikings, their long boats and unruly behaviour but this is certainly not the Denmark of today. It may surprise you to know that modern Denmark, although the smallest Scandinavian country, is also one of the most diverse, combining modern architecture with ancient castles, thriving cities and stunning coastlines, as well as some serious history and culture, civilization and Legoland! What more do you need? There really is a little something here for everyone.

  1. Seven artificial lakes were built during the construction of the Great Northern golf course, which was fashioned by Nicklaus Design and officially opened for play in July 2017.

  2. RTJ2’s lead architect Bruce Charlton was entrusted with the job of laying out the fairways at the 36-hole Scandinavian Golf Club and the Old course duly opened in the summer of 2010...

  3. Five years in the making, the Lübker Resort opened to much acclaim by Danish golfers in 2008 and this Robert Trent Jones-designed golf complex is the centrepiece of a 500-acre estate...

  4. Silkeborg Ry Golf Club is situated in Resenrbro in the part of Denmark known as “the heart of Jutland.” Formed in 1966, the club is one of the finest in the country.

  5. The New course at The Scandinavian Golf Club is a tight layout like its sibling and you are reminded of this at the very outset where the 1st plays to a very narrow fairway.

  6. Holstebro Golf Club represents an honest challenge and, in the crisp and clear Danish air, there can be few more pleasant places to be.

  7. On the edge of the Marbæk Forest, amongst stands of pine, spruce and larch lies the 42-hole Esbjerg Golf Club and one of Scandinavia’s best courses is the Marbæk.

  8. Rungsted

    Denmark

Major Charles A. MacKenzie, brother of Dr Alister MacKenzie, designed Rungsted Golf Club in 1936 and it’s one of Denmark’s oldest and most important courses.

  9. Hvide Klit

    Denmark

Wind plays an important role at Hvide Klit and although the course measures a relatively modest 5,870 metres from the regular tees you’ll need a long iron in your hands for many approach shots.

  10. Nordvestjysk Golfklub is set some four kilometres from the sea and the course is routed across a layer of sand that over time has blown in from the coast.
